In many ways a large all inclusive in Tulum is an oxymoron, done the less it is real. Tulum however does offer unique all inclusive stays from very small luxury villas with chef to large, beachfront resorts with more bars and restaurants than you can count.
Hi Russ- We are really interested in some of the more primitive cabana resorts, but our travel agent is leary...She found us the Catalonia Royal Talum (which is still way bigger than we wanted), but I would still love to find out from someone who has been, if going primitive and paying as you go for food/drinks/tours can still be as economical. Any expertise you have would be awesome.
There are accommodations available from very rustic, cheap to luxury experiences in depending on your definition of your experience. If you are using a travel agent that is looking to help you book using Apple or Funjet or a like tour operator, you are going to get a mass market resort and some of those are very nice luxury spa type experience.
The links below are a couple of ideas that offer a high unique experince I would call luxury, but it is not for the mass market HA !!!!! how about that for talking around in a big circle. :)
If you want a small boutique experience I would speak with Liliane or Kris here in the form. They know the properties and will help you qualify what will meet your expectations however you define them :)
Hey Brandi;
Kris here, I have been down to Tulum several times and have stayed at Zulum and also at Retiro Maya. I have been to the hotels that Russ had mentioned several times as well. I would love to talk to you about my experiences down that way. When are you planning to travel? I have some great restaurants for you to try as well :) Sorry I get excited when I can talk TULUM
