Actually this the reason my boss started the Playa Social Club and the Tulum Social Club, to give people a feel of what each of the towns have to offer. Take a look at the Playa Social Club, maybe that might be better for you as you can stay on the…
Hi Kris, I really appreciate your speedy responses. I guess my only concern is that it may be just a little too remote for us. Given our short stay in Mexico we really want an opportunity to mingle with Mexican people and get a feel for their…
Let see where do I start.............. I LOVE it down there. Some of the hotels have electric, some have low voltage electric, some have no electric ( camping on the beach) I have stayed at Retiro Maya (individual cabanas on the beach, no electric)…
Hi Kris, thanks for the welcome note! We are heading to Mexico around 8 November. We only have about 9 days unfortunately. We are spending 3 nights in Merida to see the sights etc. Our travel agent has suggested 5 nights at Playa del Carmen. The…

When are you heading to Tulum? Where are you staying?
Again Welcome
Kris
Let see where do I start.............. I LOVE it down there. Some of the hotels have electric, some have low voltage electric, some have no electric ( camping on the beach) I have stayed at Retiro Maya (individual cabanas on the beach, no electric) as well as Zulum (low voltage electric, Hurrican candles at night) and both experiences were great. Tulum is a place to go the to listen to the ocean and get caught up in the peace and quiet nature has to offer, no radios, no phones, no TV, just peace and quiet. you can walk for miles on the powdery white sand beaches, there are many places to eat along the beach as well
Actually this the reason my boss started the Playa Social Club and the Tulum Social Club, to give people a feel of what each of the towns have to offer. Take a look at the Playa Social Club, maybe that might be better for you as you can stay on the beach and be able to walk up to 5th Ave and enjoy the restaurants, the people, the "street fair" atmosphere in the evening.
